Class Descriptions

This page contains descriptions of all the classes offered here at Barefoot Fitness. We've included the skill level of all classes to help you decide which one meets your specific needs (skill level details on the right).

Unless otherwise noted all classes cost $10 to attend ($8 for senior citizens). You can save money by purchasing memberships or class packages. View the printable class schedule for details.

Private lessons cost are also available ($30 per session). Please call us for details.

Iyengar
Level I,II
Yoga style that uses props such as bolsters & straps to assist in achieving desired postures.

Restorative Yoga
All Levels
This class is all about deeply relaxing the body and in turn calming the mind by using props such as bolsters and blankets, and breathing techniques. It helps relieve the effects of chronic stress and is especially helpful when you feel fatigued, weak, or overwhelmed by life. A must for every yogi.

Gentle Vinyasa
Level I
Vinyasa-style class geared for beginners and the young at heart.

Slow & Deep Yoga
Level I,II,III
Passively held deep-tissue stretching done to challenge the mind & body. A great compliment to more active styles of yoga.

Butt n Abs
Level I,II,III
A fun yoga class that targets the problem areas. A nice change of pace.

Mat/Ball Pilates
Level II,III
Pilates style movements done on a mat and/or large exercise ball. Emphasizes building core and upper body strength. Please bring your own ball.

Pretzel Kids
Level 0-I
Class geared for kids ages 5-12 is a great way to get your kids active! Costs $25/month.

Vinyasa
Level II,III
Energizing style of yoga in which breath and movement are synchronized to build heat and revitalize the spirit. Recommended for experienced yogis.

Hatha Yoga
Level 0-I
Class for all levels of ability that uses props to strengthen and increase flexibility of specific areas of the body.

Pilates Reformer
Level 0-III
Innovative system of mind-body exercises using state of the art apparatus to tone the body without adding bulk. Pilates sessions need to be individually scheduled. They cost $55 each, but volume discounts are available (see printable class schedule for details).

Level 0, I

Classes require little or no experience. Appropriate for beginners as well as experienced students who enjoy a gentle class.

Level II

Classes require previous yoga experience. Appropriate for intermediate students who are familiar with Sun Salutations and standing and seated postures.

Level III

Classes require at least one year of yoga experience. Appropriate for advanced students who are comfortable performing advanced postures. Not intended for students with recent injuries or pregnant women.
